Description and Photograph:
Mina was playing in the block area with the large pipe builder blocks. She constructed a structure that was square-shaped. Teacher Leticia asked her about what she was making. Mina had lined up several animals inside the structure. She told the teacher, “It’s a petting zoo.” She continued to work in the area. Working with the blocks involves aligning the pipes and connector pieces and getting the small clamps in place. To take them apart, a special wrench is used and must be fit in the hole to disengage the pieces. It takes fine motor skills to work with the toys.
